How to Check Out Equipment

Before checking out equipment, contact your IDM instructor, professor, or staff assistant to confirm availability.
Once approved, schedule a pickup and return time during your ART 116 IDM class hours or other posted IDM hours.
Inspect all equipment before leaving to ensure it’s complete and undamaged.

Checkout Duration

Most equipment may be checked out for up to seven (7) days, depending on use and availability.
All pickups and returns must occur during IDM hours.
Do not leave equipment outside the office — it will not be considered returned until it’s checked in by IDM staff.

Your Responsibilities

The person listed on the Google Form is responsible for all equipment checked out.
You must:

• Return all items on time and in good condition

• Use equipment only for class projects or assignments

• Keep equipment secure and avoid damage or loss

If equipment is lost or damaged, you may lose checkout privileges and be billed for repair or replacement costs. Holds may be placed on transcripts or diplomas until payment is made.

Returns and Reporting Issues

Return equipment on or before the due date.
If something doesn’t work properly, notify your IDM instructor or staff immediately.
You are responsible for making sure all items are properly checked back in.

Availability and Renewals

Equipment is available by reservation and on a first-come, first-served basis.
Checkouts cannot be renewed. If you need an extension, return the equipment first and submit a new reservation request.

Acknowledgment

By submitting the checkout form, you agree to follow all IDM checkout policies.
Equipment may be used only for approved class projects, and ASU and the School of Art are not responsible for misuse or negligence.
